Samsung SBH600 Stereo Bluetooth
Headset Review

7/16/09
We just got the newly released Samsung SBH600 Stereo Bluetooth Headset in the mail today. We had great hopes for it....

However, although overall its an excellent product, it doesn't do EVERYTHING you'd expect it to with the iPhone 3Gs.

It paired with our 32GB iPhone 3Gs nicely, no problem there. The audio quality is very good and the Normal/Wide/Bass switch gives you some tonal/spatial choices. Our preference is Normal.

We think the spring that clamps the headset to ones head is a bit strong, but we could get used to it and it'll probably weaken over time.

The up/down digital volume controls on the headset work properly with the iPhone 3Gs, however, the Play/Pause and Fwd/Rew buttons on the headset DO NOT DO ANYTHING on the iPhone 3Gs. Well, the Fwd/Rew buttons make the iPhone beep, but that's all. Either Samsung or Apple dropped the ball on the coding or something here. Hopefully, Apple will be able to fix this and make it work with these Samsung headsets in a new firmware release......

Incoming calls while you're listening to music come in nicely. The music stops and you can talk to the caller over the headset with its built-in microphone. Noise cancelling seems to work well here too. HOWEVER, once the call is cleared down, you're hoarked. The music DOES NOT START UP AGAIN, and the iPhone switches the audio back to its internal speaker, so you have to dig the darned thing out of your pocket, set the audio back to the headset and then press play again. What a let down!!!

PLEASE, Apple, fix this for us....I know its probably not your fault, but what's the chances of Samsung taking my headset back and fixing it there?
(Answer: None).
